"Dash - Part IV & Wheeling Out..."

Notes:

  • The dash is back from California...  My wallet is a lot lighter, but I shouldn't have to worry about the dash for years to come.  Now I am waiting for the vents and other plastic dash parts to come back from Wisconsin (being re-chromed).

  • The new windshield is in.  Joe also put on the chrome drip edge to see how it'll look.  I think that the chrome will be a great contrast with the paint!

  • The hood and rest of the car (except for the fenders) has been wet sanded, now Joe is wheeling it out.  If you look at the last picture (the fender), you can pretty much see all of the "orange peel" that the car had.  Now the car is smooth as glass!

  • The passenger door is still be worked on.

  • The rear glass does have a decent gap on the driver's side.  It's the original glass and there was no major work done around the rear window, so we're not sure what the story is (not like glass warps!).  After the rear window trim is put in place, we'll see what the gap looks like and what the next course of action will be.

  • I don't have a picture, but I re-taped the engine compartment wiring harness.

  • I polished up the chrome that I didn't replace.

  • Seeing as I haven't seen the bottom of the car in a long time, I figured that I would take a picture!

What is hopefully going to be accomplished in the next week:

  • Joe will finish wheeling the car out.  Just as a reminder...  The front fenders won't be wet sanded or wheeled until all of the mechanical items are finished.

  • I'll be cleaning up and re-dying some interior pieces.

  • Joe is hoping to start on the headliner (depends on a lot of things!).
