Issues:
-
Some of the exhaust pipes
will need to be expanded just a bit so the pipes fit. If there
was a way that they should have went together, Joe would have figured
it out.
-
The aluminum waterpump
only comes in a "non-A/C" version, so this means that the
pump is a 1/2" longer than the stock one. This means
different pulleys so that I can keep my A/C (which I am doing!!!).
-
Since I changed out the
10-bolt rear end with a 12 bolt, my drive shaft will need to be cut an
inch, or so.
-
The new transmission mount
is a little taller than stock. This is causing a clearance
issue with the header collectors and the transmission crossmember.
-
Despite the fact they are
in "good" shape, the valve covers will need to be
re-chromed.
Notes:
-
Check out the fan (did it
myself... have to pat myself on the back for that one)... Not
bad looking for stock! After blasting and polishing the fan out,
everywhere it's not black, it was shot with clear (all high heat
paint). Note the stock "PH" on the front of the
clutch.
-
Obviously the transmission
is in place.
-
Have to have a picture of
the carb...

HERE WE GO!!!!
Friday, February 4th we will attempt to START THE ENGINE!!! By
that time, all of the exhaust issues should be worked out. I
will be bringing, or sending the rest of the parts to get this little
goal accomplished before Friday. Naturally, if the
engine does start, we will have to run it for the 15/20 minute cam
break-in period.
