"Now we're cruising!"

.

Notes:

  • The body is back on the frame!  It's actually starting to look like a car again!

  • Decklid, fenders, valance panel & 1 door skin in primer.

  • The pitted section under the windshield was leaded in and smoothed out with filler.

  • The rear glass section is being smoothed out/filled in a with a special epoxy filler.

  • The underneath of the body, interior & firewall have been painted black.

  • Joe is currently working on the body, the decklid, one of the doors and the hood.

What is hopefully going to be accomplished this week:

  • The inner quarter panels still need to be smoothed out.

  • The fenders, decklid, doors & hood should be finished and ready for paint.

  • The front & back glass areas should be finished and ready for paint.

  • Obviously the body will need further smoothing out.  Joe said that this is the least amount of filler that he has had to use on a car.

  • My seats should be done tomorrow and looking like brand new.  The interior guy said that he was impressed with the way that they turned out, so I guess that's a good sign!  He also said that the springs on the passenger seat weren't even rusted.  All other springs/tracks had minimal rust which surprised him as well.

  • I'm getting the driveshaft cut.

  • I'm ordering the intake manifold and hopefully will be dropping it off at the machine shop to be milled to Ram Air IV specs (using the intake gaskets as a guide).

  • I'm going to be working on the dash/glovebox and console (and probably the kick panels etc.).

  • The exhaust still needs tweaking and won't be that low in the back!  Final adjustments and assembly will be finished when the car is close to completion.
